Al's Little Green Book

Al Gore, onstage at the Live Earth show in Washington:
"We are in a transition time in history when the only way we can get to where we need to be is by starting from where we are."
Mao Tse-tung, on the path to Peking:
"A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step."
If the future's totalitarian, let's at least go with the guy who's finished in half the time.*

(Yeah, yeah, I'm using the old Wade-Giles imperialist spellings. But otherwise it would be "bath in Beijing," and that hardly seems worth the trip.)

* Alternate endings:

-- the guy who only talks half as much.
-- the guy who can frame a metaphor.
-- the guy who can speak English. This was my original thought, but some people might think I meant Gore.

Add yours in the comments. And Hot Air visitors, take a look around, OK? Also, that Gore quote seems to be making the rounds. Hello, Rovians. I hope you folks are nice doggies. Slapstick?
