Phased Redeployments Through History

Sens. Salazar, Reed, Levin, Kerry -- this one's for you.

Mr. Spock. Set your phaser to "redeploy."

Iraqi Army redeploys from Kuwait, 1991.

Marines redeploy from Saigon, 1975.

French redeploy from Dien Bien Phu, 1954.

Germans redeploy from Stalingrad, 1943.

Napoleon redeploys from Moscow, 1812.

Cornwallis redeploys at Yorktown, 1781.

Is this the pantheon to which the Iraq War belongs? I don't think so.

More seriously treated at Captain's Quarters and Decision '08 and Protein Wisdom, among other places. It just occurred to me that I redeployed traffic from A.J. Strata's place. Sorry A.J., I was in link mode and forgot I wasn't linking to what you were writing about, which was you're not writing anything. Bad form on my part!
